中平穂積『ジャズ・フォトグラフズ』

プンクトゥム・タイムズ第20号は、ジャズ写真家・中平穂積氏の写真集となります。
2015年4月から中平氏の母校、和歌山県立新宮高等高校のある新宮市で開催される初めての大規模な写真展（＠熊野新聞社ギャラリー）を記念して発行する特別号です。
中平氏は1961年のアート・ブレイキー初来日からジャズミュージシャンの写真を撮り始めました。同年、東京・新宿にジャズ喫茶「DIG」を開店（現在の店名は「DUG」）。以来、半世紀にわたり、国内外で、今や「ジャズ・レジェンド」といわれる錚々たるミュージシャンを撮影してきました。特にモダンジャズの最盛期に撮影された貴重な写真群は世界的にも認められています。長年、日本ジャズ文化の担い手の一人として活躍し、写真展も多数開催しています。2014年には集大成となる写真集『JAZZ GIANTS 1961-2013』（東京キララ社）を刊行。
今号のプンクトゥム・タイムズでは、写真集初収録となる写真を中心に構成しました。表紙のセロニアス・モンクをはじめ、ジョン・コルトレーンら有名ジャズミュージシャン、ニューヨークの無名ジャズミュージシャン、さらには、望遠レンズをつけてステージを撮影しているマイルス・デイビスの写真も収録しています。

The latest issue PUNCTUM TIMES No. 20 is the special one featured a “Jazz Photographer,” Hozumi Nakadaira.
This issue was published on the occasion of “Hozumi Nakadaira Photo Exhibition” at Kumano Shimbun Gallery from April 10 to May 30, 2015.
Nakadaira started his career as a photographer to take photographs of Art Blakey at his first live in Tokyo, 1961. He has taken photographs of “Jazz Legends” since. His photographs are acknowledged as valuable ones in the world. He also opened his cafe “DIG” in Shinjuku, Tokyo, 1961. Now the name of cafe is changed to “DUG.” He is very famous in the Jazz culture scene. His Jazz photo book was published by Tokyo Kirarasha in 2014, as the compilation of his work for over 50 years career.
